The Eagles, One of the most successful rock/country ba= nds of the past three decades started out in California as a studio band. In 1970, producer John Boylan gathered Glen Frey (guitar), Bernie Leadon (banjo, mandolin), Randy Meisner (bass) and Don Henley (drums= ) to serve as a back up band for Linda Rondstadt. Once they started to attract m= uch attention off Rondstadt’s label, Asylum, they decided to record their= own self titled debut album; the album went gold and produced many Top 40 hits.=

 

In 1973, the recorded Desperado, which wasn’t as workable, but it recognized for depressing demeanor that has been used nume= rous times by other artists as well as by Rondstadt herself. 

 

However 1974 was a much more successful year, the albu= m, “One the Record” made the No. 1 single, “Best of My Love”. The eagles made the most of their newfound success by quickly releasing the album “One of These Nights”. Immediately, “= One of These Nights” topped the charts and later won the band their first Grammy Award for the Top 10 single, “Lyin= ’ Eyes.”

 

A few years later, in 1976, The Eagles released a Grea= test Hits album, which still, to this day is the best selling album. In 1977, Le= adon (who played the banjo and mandolin), was replaced by Joe Walsh. The next aw= ard winning hit, “Hotel California”, was recorded.

 

After a short break and some more lineup changes with = the replacement of Meisner with Timothy B. Schmidt, The eagles released “= The Long One” in 1979, featuring the famous single, “Heartache Tonight”.

 

The band parted ways in 1981. During the rest of the 80’s, eventually, each of the band members tried taking their career solo, with Don Henley being most successful. Henley<= /st1:place> won a Grammy Award for the remarkable symphony, “The End of the Innocence”.

 

The Eagles were reunited in 1994 for their massively successful stadium tour which released their No. 1 album, “Hell Freez= es Over”. In 1998, The eagles were inaugurate= d into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

 

In 2001, it was reported that The Eagles’ total = album sales reached a whopping 83.5 million claiming them the third best selling = band of all time, with The Beatles and Led Zeppelin in front.
